Every day, people send money to bank accounts, mobile wallets, crypto wallets and other digital platforms without knowing whether the person on the other side can be trusted.
Often, the warning comes only after the money is gone.
We are building GoWaly to change that.
GoWaly is a fraud intelligence platform designed to help people identify and report suspicious accounts before they make a transaction. When someone reports a fraudulent account, that information can help protect the next person who encounters it.
But our vision goes beyond a consumer platform.
We are building GoWaly as an API-first fraud intelligence layer that banks, fintechs and other financial institutions can integrate into the platforms their customers already use. This means fraud intelligence can eventually be available directly within the transaction experience — at the moment it matters most.
We've already started.
GoWaly has been bootstrapped for the past 8 months. We have invested approximately ₦4 million of our own resources, built two versions of the product, launched the consumer-facing platform, developed the foundation of our API infrastructure, registered the company and built a team.
Our first version also taught us an important lesson: asking people to leave the financial platforms they already use creates friction.
So we are evolving GoWaly.
The next phase is about turning what we have built into infrastructure that can work alongside the financial platforms people already trust.
Why we are raising
We are raising ₦10 million to help us move from product validation to commercial readiness.
The funds will go toward:
- Product and API development
- Regulatory, legal and compliance requirements
- Security and technical infrastructure
- Marketing and customer acquisition
- Business development and operations
Marketing is particularly important because GoWaly's intelligence becomes more valuable as more people participate — checking, reporting and contributing information about fraudulent accounts.
Our goal is not simply to build another app.
We want to build a network that makes digital transactions safer.
With the right support, we can strengthen the product, grow the intelligence network, pursue financial-institution integrations and begin generating revenue through our API infrastructure.
Why your support matters
This is an early stage of GoWaly's journey.
We don't have massive revenue or thousands of institutional customers to point to yet. What we do have is a real problem, a product we've already built, lessons from the first version, founder commitment and a clear vision for where we want to take it.
We are inviting our friends, family, supporters and anyone who believes in safer digital finance to help us take the next step.
Your contribution will help us build the infrastructure that could protect millions of people from losing money to fraud.
Help us build GoWaly.
